Eagles Rule Cb Isaiah Rodgers Out Of Matchup Vs Packers With A Hand Injury

Eagles rule CB Isaiah Rodgers out of matchup vs. Packers with a hand injury

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Isaiah Rodgers has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers with a hand injury.

Rodgers suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' 29-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. He was evaluated by team doctors and underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed a sprain of his right thumb.

Rodgers is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with the injury. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Josiah Scott.

The Eagles are already without cornerback Avonte Maddox, who is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The loss of Rodgers is a significant blow to the Eagles' secondary, which is already thin at cornerback.

Scott has started four games in his career, including two this season. He has recorded 13 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery in those games.

The Eagles will need Scott to step up in a big way against the Packers, who have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown for over 300 yards in each of his last three games, and he has 10 touchdown passes this season.

The Packers will also be without their top receiver, Davante Adams, who is out with a toe injury. However, the Packers still have plenty of weapons in their offense, including wide receivers Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

The Eagles will need to generate pressure on Aaron Rodgers and force him into mistakes if they want to have a chance of winning on Sunday.
