The B-52's and Beyond

Alford's breakthrough came in 1989 when he joined the legendary B-52's. This 14-month adventure took him on a whirlwind tour of sold-out shows and cemented his reputation as an exceptional percussionist. From there, Alford's career soared, collaborating with musical giants such as Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, and Tomoyasu Hotei.

Billy Joel's River of Dreams

At the recommendation of Danny Kortchmar, Alford was brought in to play drums on Billy Joel's acclaimed album "River of Dreams." This opportunity showcased his versatility and ability to adapt to diverse musical styles.

David Bowie's Vision

In 1995, Alford was approached to join David Bowie's band. Bowie's eclectic sound and willingness to experiment provided Alford with a platform to push his musical boundaries. Alford's interpretations of Bowie's ever-evolving music allowed him to showcase his unique talent.
