The Minnesota Timberwolves are spreading some holiday cheer to 22 foster children in the Twin Cities.

On Friday, December 16, the team surprised the children with a $500 shopping spree at the downtown Target location. The children were also given special gifts from the players.

"It's great to be able to give back to the community, especially during the holidays," said Timberwolves player Karl-Anthony Towns. "These kids deserve a special day, and we're happy to make it happen."

The shopping spree is part of the Timberwolves' Season of Giving program, which supports local charities and organizations that are making a difference in the community.

"We're proud to partner with Target to make this shopping spree possible," said Timberwolves President of Business Operations Ryan Tanke. "Target is a great community partner, and we're grateful for their support."

The children were all smiles as they shopped for clothes, toys, and other items.

"This is amazing," said one child. "I can't believe I get to spend $500."

Another child said, "I'm so grateful to the Timberwolves for doing this. This is the best day ever."

The Timberwolves hope that the shopping spree will help make the holidays a little brighter for these children.

"We want to make sure that every child has a special holiday," said Towns. "We're happy to do our part to make that happen."
