Omaha Tornado Siren Test

Tornado Siren Tests Begin in Douglas and Sarpy Counties

Monthly Tests Scheduled for First Wednesday of Each Month

Residents Are Advised Not to Be Alarmed

Douglas and Sarpy Counties conducted the first tornado siren test of the season on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. The tests will be conducted every first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. Residents are advised not to be alarmed by the sound of the sirens.

The sirens are tested to ensure that they are working properly and to remind residents of the importance of having a tornado safety plan. In the event of a tornado warning, residents should seek shelter immediately in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of their home.
